A SHORT HISTORY OF 'KATTL'
The 'KATTL' concept was forged in the middle 1980's by the late Lore Orion, and Bandera Bob (aka Bobby E. Boyd) in San Antonio, Texas. At the time they were finishing an album for release in the U.K. for 'Lore and The Legends, that was followed by a tour of England. The various 'KATTL' lineups went on through the 1990's with Lore at the lead vocals, followed by Gerald Boyd, Michael Lusk, and David Tolliver for a short period of time. In 1995 'KATTL' had attained a promise of a record deal with a major label, and was being produced by Tim McGraw, Byron Gallimore, and Bobby E. Boyd, but a shift at the label brought the project crashing down, and 'KATTL' was put to rest....(McGraw subsequently recorded two of Lore's original songs from those 'KATTL' sessions - "Tickin Away" and "Illegal" - on his album 'Tim McGraw and The Dancehall Doctors')
With Lore's untimely death in 2013, it seemed that his music, and 'KATTL' would be "Saying Goodbye To The West". Chance struck one night when Lore and Kelly Orion's nephew - Wade Lowrie - sat in with Bobby & Gerald at the Mayan Ranch bar, and the spark was reignited. 'KATTL' has found a new future in the next generation, and we are in the procees of recording new sides of Lore's songs, along with a few co-written with Bobby, and a cover of a great 'Thin Lizzy' song from the '70s. Consisting of a monster 5 piece band from Bandera, Texas, 'KATTL' has all the earmarks of being the next great "Little Old Band From Texas"!!!
